Five for Friday Author Misty Hayes

1. You’re offered the choice to spend a week with any Marvel superhero you choose. Which one gets the pleasure of your company?
If anyone knows me, they know that I am a HUGE Marvel fan–extra points goes to the one who can guess my favorite Avenger… Yes, it is Spider-Man. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, to be exact… I’ve actually met him in real life. He’s as adorably cute as the character he plays. An entire week with Peter Parker; he’d be tired of slingin’ webs by the time the week was over. Plus, I bet Tony Stark (Iron Man) would show up at some point to, too. Two for the price of one… I’ve thought about this way long now…
2. You’re heading for an exotic island vacation . . . which of your characters would you choose to come to life and go with you? Why?
Definitely Corinth, the loveable-dagger-wielding-underdog-turned-elite-warrior. He’s got a great gallows type sense of humor and a biting wit. I think his carefree attitude would make for a wild vacay – plus, he loves coffee just as much as I do.
3. What author inspires you?
This question should be plural: ‘authors’. I could answer this one pretty easily and say that Jim Butcher’s Dresden Series was a huge inspiration in helping me write my own trilogy, but the person who truly inspired, encouraged, and rallied for me was my best friend and fellow author, Misty Spitzer. She is working on a series as well and it’s beyond amazing. Her work is absolutely incredible.
4. A wealthy benefactor offers to take you to dinner anywhere in the world you choose. Where would you go and what would you order?
Is the wealthy benefactor Bruce Wayne? Because I would totally be down for that, also, I had to Google ‘top Michelin restaurants in 2018’ to find a good one and ended up picking #3 on the list because: a) it’s France and b) it has a panoramic view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It just goes to show you that I don’t pick locales based on the food – although I do consider myself a foodie. I would most likely order whatever is chef recommended, I’ve never gone wrong doing that.
5. What was the hardest book for you to write?
My first book – The Outcasts. It was such a challenge to complete the first draft… little did I know the path I had set myself upon wouldn’t be just difficult, it would be lit on fire and as impassable as facing off with the Balrog in the Two Towers
Misty Hayes has always had a thing for escaping headfirst into fantastical books. This is what led her to start writing her own adventures down. As someone who has spent a long career in law enforcement, Misty has a love for strong female protagonists. She also directs short films and claims to have been bitten by the traveling bug (not to be mistaken for a radioactive spider).

When Misty isn’t filming or roaming the planet, or diving into another novel, she’s spending time at home in Texas with her myriad of nieces and nephews in tow.

The Blood Dagger Series is a high-octane Young Adult Paranormal trilogy.
