What was the hardest book for you to write?
I think the first, Coming Home, was the hardest. I made all the rookie mistakes: switching POV, too many adverbs, telling vs showing. The editing process was painful. But it’s also my favorite.
Which of your characters is your least favorite?
I love them all… Don’t I sound like a Mom? If I had to choose, I would say Katie from book 2. But only because you made me choose. She can be a bit whiny.
If you could only eat one flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I know it’s boring, but vanilla goes with everything. You can add any topping you want.
You’re heading for an exotic island vacation . . . which of your characters would you choose to come to life and go with you? Why?
I’m definitely taking Flynn. Not only is he smoking hot (sorry to my dear husband of 22 years), but he’s funny as hell. Humor is very important.
A wealthy benefactor offers to take you to dinner anywhere in the world you choose. Where would you go and what would you order?
Somewhere in Australia. I’m not a foodie, so it doesn’t matter what I order. Maybe some fresh seafood. Australia is on my bucket list.
Kimberley O’Malley is a transplant to Charlotte, North Carolina from the frozen North. She is learning to say y’all but draws the line at sweet tea. Sarcasm is an art form in her world. When not writing, she is a full-time nurse and part-time soccer Mom, but not necessarily in that order. She shares her life with an amazing husband of more than twenty years, two teenagers, and one very sweet Shetland Sheepdog, Molly.
